Teaching English as a Foreign Langage


General Competencies

1. Have general knowledge of Mexican education in general, as well as teaching English in its context (Mexico).

2. Will have a broad knowledge of different disciplines related to language teaching, for example, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, teaching techniques of the different skills, assessment design, program design, discourse analysis, etc.

3. Will have excellent knowledge and use of English in all registers, a special gift emphasized in the academic record.

4. Aspire to achieve an ethical, humanistic and sustainable performance of educational work.

5. Search to constantly overcoming and improvement of professional skills.

6. At the end of the career the student will gain knowledge in specific specialty, applied linguistics, translation, management of schools and educational technology..

Competencies by specialization area.

Applied Linguistics

• Use new technologies in instrumentation design and virtual control applied in the modeling of systems and processes.

Educational Technology

• Analyze and develop suitable and attractive software for use inside and outside of the classroom.

• Using different technological resources inside and outside the classroom.

Translation

• Develop translations of official and unofficial documents in a professional way.

• To know and Manage with Efficiency lifecycle of document translation.

• Develop the desire to achieve a high degree of accuracy and suitability in the written translation.

Management of Educational Centers

• Management of administrative and academic form of a language center.

• Design a curriculum program implementation at different levels and modes of learning.

Academic and Administrative Requirements Graduation

To obtain the degree in Teaching English, the student shall:

• Have approved the credits concerning the obligatory subjects set by the curriculum.

• Have completed a minimum of credits, corresponding to the optional subjects set by the curriculum.

• Having a minimum average score of 7 out of 10, in the subjects of the Bachelor.

• To have obtained a minimum score of 570 on the TOEFL exam.

• Upon completion of the credit requirements and English language proficiency, ask the School Affairs Coordinating the development of the official certificate of degree.

• The language for writing thesis is English, if you want to write in another language must request permission from the Academic Secretary from the start of your procedure, prior approval of the program coordinator.

• The procedures start until graduation degree work is authorized for plaster, such authorization is granted by the Synod teachers who make the jury examination.

• Submit two copies of the thesis to libraries.

• Cover any duties (receptional exam and school records).
